1541: The wise, pious and moral speeches of Imam al-Jawad (a.s): part one

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful

1- Imam Jawad (peace be upon him) said:

Whoever listens to a person has worshipped him, if his statement is from Allah then he has worshipped Allah and if his statement is from the tongue of the Satan then he has worshipped the Satan. (Mustadrakul wasa’il volume: 17, page: 308, the 5^th hadith).

2- A man said to him: admonish me.

He (peace be upon him) said: will you accept the admonition from me?

He said yes; then he (peace be upon him) said: be patient in life, embrace poverty and go against your selfish interest; moreover be aware that you cannot be out of the sight of Allah and then be careful of how you are going to be. (Bihar al-Anwar volume: 75, page: 357, the 1^st hadith).

3- He (peace be upon him) said:

A believer is in need of three characteristics: success from Almighty Allah; to admonish his self and accept from those that gives advice to him. (Bihar al-Anwar volume: 72, page: 65, the 3^rd hadith).

4- He (peace be upon him) said:

Allah inspired to some Prophets and said: your asceticism in this world makes you at ease, and as for your inclination towards me, it endears you but have you be in enmity with my enemy and in friendship with my friend?

5- He (peace be upon him) said:

Whoever his anxiety overcomes his patience has destroyed his reward.

6- He (peace be upon him) said:

Delaying repentance is a deceit; long postponement is helplessness; given an excuse to Allah is destruction; continuation in committing sin is feeling secure from Allah’s punishment “But no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people.” (Surah al-A’raf: 99).

7- He (peace be upon him) said:

To affirm something before it is certain is its destruction.

8- He (peace be upon him) said:

Visiting each other is a spread and vaccination for the intellect even if it is little.

9- He (peace be upon him) said:

Be careful of befriending the evil ones because they are like unsheathed sword that is outwardly good but its effect is bad.

10- He (peace be upon him) said:

How can a person whom Allah is his breadwinner got loss; how can a person whom Allah need escape from Him but whoever detached himself from Allah to other than Him, Allah will deputize him to that person.
