1- Imam al-Rida (peace be upon him) in a narration said:
Whoever doesn’t possess what to clean his sins should send peace and blessing (Salawat) to Muhammad and the household of Muhammad because it destroys the sins. (Misbahu Duja: 419; Uyunul Akhbar al-Rida volume: 2, page: 265, the 52nd hadith; Amali by Suduq: 131, the 123rd hadith; Wasa’il Shi’ah volume: 7, page: 194, hadith 9093).
2- Imam al-Rida (peace be upon him): said:
Whoever meet a poor Muslim and salute him different than his salutation to the rich men shall meet Allah the most High annoying with him in the Day of Judgment. (Sheikh Suduq (r.a) in Uyunul Akhbar al-Rida).
3- Abi al-Silat al-Harawi said: I inquired from Imam al-Rida (peace be upon him) about faith and he said:
Faith is an agreement with the heart, says with tongue, implemented by joints of the body and faith can’t be without the aforementioned items. (Uyunul Akhbar al-Rida volume: 2, page: 348).
4- Imam al-Rida (peace be upon him):said:
In the Day of Judgment I shall come to whoever visits me upon the distance of my house in order to rescue him from its affliction in three occasions:
a- When the books are flying right and left,
b- When on the mountain of Sirat,
c- During the weighing of deeds. (Al-Khisal volume: 1, page: 168).
5- Imam al-Rida (peace be upon him) said:
Money cannot be gathered except with five characteristics:
a- Too much misery,
b- Long hopes,
c- Much greedy,
d- Separation from relations
e- Loving this world than the hereafter.
6- He (peace be upon him) said:
Among the signs of Islamic understanding are patient, knowledge and silence. Indeed silence is one of the gates of wisdom, likewise you obtain love through it and it is an evidence of the entire goods. (Usul al-Kafi volume: 2, page: 113, chapter of silence and protecting the tongue, the 1st hadith).
7- He (peace be upon him) said:
Indeed Allah the most High has ordered for three things that are accompanied with another three things:
a- He ordered for Prayer and Zakat, The prayer shall not be accepted from whoever observed prayer without Zakat;
b- He ordered appreciation to Himself and to parents, whoever did not show appreciation to his parent would not give appreciation to Allah;
c- He ordered to mind your duty to Him and tie your relationship with your relatives, whoever did not tie his relationship with his relative would not mind his duty to Allah. (Bihar al-Anwar volume: 74, page: 77).
8- He (peace be upon him) said:
A man cannot become a believer except he possesses three characteristics: the tradition from Allah; the tradition from His Prophet and the tradition from His intimate friends.
The tradition from Allah is to conceal secret; the tradition from His Prophet is good administration and good relationship with people and the tradition from His intimate friends is to be patient in all sorts of afflictions. (Usul al-Kafi volume: 3, page: 339).
9- He (peace be upon him) said:
Minor sins are the gate to major sins, whoever did not fear Allah in little things would not fear Him in major things. Even though Allah did not frighten us with Paradise and Hellfire we should have compulsorily obey Him and not to disobey Him for His favors and goods on us and likewise the blessing He has given hence we did not deserve it.
10- He (peace be upon him) said:
A Muslim intellect is not completed except with ten characteristics:
a- To hope of good from him,
b- To feel secure of bad from him,
c- He deed the good from others to be much,
d- He deem the good from himself to be small,
e- He is not upset when something is demanded from him,
f- He don’t feel reluctant from seeking knowledge throughout his life,
g- To be poor in the path of Allah is more preferable to him than to be rich,
h- He prefer distress in the path of Allah than dignity in the path of His enemy,
i- Sluggishness is more desired to him than famousness
j- Then he said: the tenth and is the tenth? It was said to him, what is it?
He said: don’t see anyone until you say, he is better than you and he is of fearful of Allah than you. (Tuhfal Uqul: 467).
