1520: The wise, pious and moral speech of Imam Husain (a.s): part four
In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful
31 - Imam Husain (peace be upon him) said:
Woe unto you, the followers of the family of Abu Sufyan, if you don’t have religion and you don’t fear the day of resurrection, try to be a free man in your world and return back to your value if you deem to be an Arab.
32- Imam Husain (peace be upon him) said:
Verily this illegitimate person son of illegitimate person has impose two options upon us i.e. between sword and distress and distress is not possible from our side. Meanwhile Allah, the Prophet and the believers rejected distress from us; likewise the pure mothers and fathers, the souls with self-respect and honor would not accept us if we follow the filthy ones.
33- Imam Husain (peace be upon him) said:
Forever, to God I will never obey and will never submit as a distress person likewise I will not run away like a slave. Then he shouted saying: O’ the servant of Allah! I seek refuge from my Lord and your Lord that you should stone me. I seek refuge from my Lord and your Lord from all the arrogant ones that disbelieve in the day of accountability.
34- Imam Husain (peace be upon him) said:
The course of issues and laws is in the control of those that knows Allah, i.e. those that knows His lawful and His prohibition. “Tuhfal Uqul pg: 168”
35- Imam Husain (peace be upon him) said:
O’ the Amir! We are the household of the Prophet, the source of the message; it is in our house the Angel consequently descends and ascends. Allah has commenced His blessing with us and shall complete it with us. As for Yazeed, he is a sinner, he drink alcohol, he kill a respectful souls and commit sin openly; my type will never gives allegiance to his type. We shall all see who is worthy of caliphate and allegiance.
36- Imam Husain (peace be upon him) said:
From Allah we come and unto Him we shall return and may peace be upon Islam because the nation has been inflicted with a filthy person like Yazeed. Verily I have heard my grandfather the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) saying: the caliphate is forbidden to the family of Abu Sufyan.
37- Imam Husain (peace be upon him) said to Abdullah bn Umar:
O’ father of Abdulrahman, don’t you know that the world is so corrupt to the extent the slaughtered head of Prophet Yahya son of Zakariya was given as a gift to one of the tyrants among the Israelite?
Don’t you know that the Israelites has killed 70 Prophets of Allah between dawn and the sunrise and back to their market to continue their buying and selling as if they have did nothing. Allah did not quickly punish them rather He grant them chance of repentance and after their refusal, He punish them. O’ father of Abdulraman mind your duty to Allah and you should not leave me alone.
38- Imam Husain (peace be upon him) said:
Be patience O’ the son of the honorable ones. Death is nothing except a bridge that assists you to cross from unhappiness and difficulties to vast Gardens of Paradise and endless favor. My father narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) saying: this world is a prison for the believers and Paradise for the unbelievers; death is their bridge to the gardens of the Paradise while death of the unbelievers is their bridge to hellfire. Definitely I have not heard wrongly and I am not speaking falsely.
39- On his way to Karbala when he reaches the house of Tha’labah, a man by name Basheer bn Galib said to him:
O’ the son of the Messenger of Allah: expound to me the statement of Allah which says: “the day We shall call upon every nation through their leaders” “Surah Isra’i: 71”
Imam (peace be upon him) said: leader is he who call to guidance and he is followed and another leader is he who call to misguidance and he is followed. The former is in Paradise while the later is in hellfire; that is the statement of Allah which says: (some groups are in the Paradise while another group is in hellfire). “Surah Shura: 7”
40- Imam Husain (peace be upon him) on his way to Karbala after the martyrdom of his cousin Muslim bn Aqeel and was advice to go back, then he said:
If you deem this world to be valuable then the last day in the Abode of Allah is more valuable.
If human body is created to die, then to God, to become a martyr is better.
If this world provision is stipulated, then it is better one should be less greedy when seeking for provision.
If the wealth gathered will be left behind, then why one will be stingy of what will be left behind “Bihar al-Anwar vol: 44 pg: 374”.
