The Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said that the Takfiris are one of the instances of the secondary barbarism appeared at the current time which once again are spreading the ignorant ideologies and actions.

Speaking at the opening of the conference entitled “The dangers of Takfiri thoughts” in Qom on Wednesday the Grand Ayatollah Makarem said during the recent years a large number of Shia and other Muslims have been murdered by Takfiris and today they are very active in countries such as Egypt, Bahrain, Pakistan and Iraq.

The Grand Ayatollah added that the dangers that the Islamic world is facing today by the Takfiris has placed a great responsibility on the shoulders of Muslims and silence in such a condition is not allowed and that is why this conference is organised. He pointed to the damage the Takfiris are causing to Islam and said Islam is the religion of peace and compassion and is against violence and the world is ready to accept Islam but the Takfiris have started a wave of anti-Islam sentiment.

The Grand Ayatollah Makarem stressed that Takfiris do not pity anyone and attack the innocent people at any place. He added that we must inform the world that Takfiris do not belong to Islam and that their understanding from the religion is totally misguided and wrong. The Grand Ayatollah Shirazi referred to the enemies of Islam who are trying to form and equip Takfiris groups and said they see Islam as a danger to their dominance of the world and that is why they are using the Takfiris to combat Islam and Muslims.
