He always said, "Whoever is moderate, God will set him free from want and the one who lives extravagantly, God will render him poor."

He lived in this way. He was moderate in his clothing and food. He stopped eating before he was full. In his clothing, too, he was satisfied with the simplest and cheapest, the same clothes as others and even simpler.
