Activist condemns the Muslims executions in China
Rabia Qadeer a Chinese political activist condemned execution sentences issued against Igor Muslims of Shin Kiang area in western China. These Muslims were accused of carrying out armed operations. According to Al-Jazeera, Qadeer said the two execution sentences as well as 9 prison sentences including 3 life imprisonments issued against Igor Muslims were all part of political trials and such acts will increase tensions in Shin Kiang area.
In a statement Qadeer wrote, the latest execution and prison sentences showed the fact that Chinese Muslims do not enjoy equal rights like other citizens. Qadeer added that in these trials none of the normal rules were observed and it is expected that these political trials to increase Muslim’s dissatisfaction against governmental agencies. In 2009 a violent campaign was carried out against Muslims by the Chinese military which led to killings of 200 civilians. According to official statistics more than 46% of Eastern Turkistan population in Shin Kiang are Igor Muslims.
