Blast Targets Evacuees from Besieged Towns in Aleppo Killing Huge Number of Civilians

A huge number of civilians were martyred or injured in a terrorist car bomb attack targeting a bus convoy with evacuees from the besieged Syrian towns of Foua and Kefraya in Al-Rashidin area on Aleppo’s outskirts.

“The number of victims [in the explosion] between martyrs and injured is at least 220,” Al-Manar correspondent said, adding that the stranded residents of Kefraya and Foua at the scene of the explosion are suffering from a very critical humanitarian conditions.

Four buses entered from the Ramousa crossing to Al-Rashidin neighborhood to replace the buses damaged by the terrorist bombing, Al-Manar reported said. He added that seven ambulances had transferred around 40 wounded civilians to hospitals in Aleppo

Syrian state TV reported that a bomber blew up an explosive-laden car at the site.

The buses were evacuating residents of Kefraya and al-Foua villages under a deal reached between the Damascus government and foreign-sponsored Takfiri militant groups last month. Residents of Foua and Kefraya were agreed to be transferred to the outskirts of Aleppo City, the coastal province of Latakia or Damascus, while the gunmen and their families would leave for Idlib City.

On Friday, a convoy of 75 buses arrived in Aleppo, evacuating some 5 thousand people from the besieged cities.

State-owned Arabic daily Tishreen said the explosion took place as children were collecting food being distributed at the stop point.
