Yıldırım: Turkey Cannot Be Safe unless Stability in Syria and Iraq Didn’t Materialize
Turkish prime minister, Ben Ali Yıldırım, called upon the international community to abandon what he called “hesitating position” towards terrorism, stressing that fighting terrorism does not concern Turkey alone, but the whole world as well.
Speaking to the Justice and Development meeting in Ankara on Tuesday, Yıldırım said “we expect the nations of the world a strong response to our call for joint cooperation in the fight against terrorism.”
He said that terrorism “does not concern Turkey alone, but the whole world as well, and all nations should be united to confront terrorism,” pointing out that the instability in Syria and Iraq over the past years form an atmosphere appropriate for terrorist organizations.
Yildirim added that Turkey cannot be safe if stability in Syria and Iraq did not materialize.
