Millions of Arbaeen pilgrims, a response to terrorists: Sheikh Qabalan
The presence of millions of pilgrims who held the Nov 20 Arbaeen mourning ceremony peacefully indicated once again that Imam Hussein's (AS) ideals are immortal, Sheikh Qabalan said in a message for the Arbaeen ceremony.
Arbaeen is a Shia Muslim religious observance that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (AS), the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the third Imam of Shia Muslims.
Each year, millions of pilgrims, mainly from Iraq and Iran, travel long routes on foot to Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located.
In his Sunday message, the Sheikh called on the Arab and Islamic leaders to enter the battle field to fight against the Takfiri terrorists who have infiltrated into the Arab and Islamic Ummah.
He further extended congratulations to the Iraqi and Syrian armies as well as their allies on their victories over the Takfiri bands and successes in annihilating them.
In his message, the grand Shia cleric called for drying the root of sources which provide money and weapons for the Takfiri terrorists.
He also stressed the necessity to fight against the Takfiri ideology and prevent its extension.
Sheikh Qabalan then urged the Ulema to invite all to be united and cooperate in order to drain the root of the extremists and terrorists.
He concluded that all should make efforts to find the proper political solutions to halt bloodshed in all Arab states and help bring security and stability.
