'National unity' main key to foil enemies' hostilities: Shia Scholar

Sayyed Abul Hassan Navvab, head of the University of Islamic Denominations, called Muslims to boost Islamic solidarity as a means to foil hostility of enemies stressing unity as a permanent necessity.

He stressed the role of researchers and elites for promotion of peace among different walks of life and added;” Scholars and thinkers can play a key role on prevalence of peace and security in society.”

The cleric called Daesh (ISIS/IS) terrorist group as a symbol of ignorance and misapprehension.

According to the Shia cleric the plot to highlight Shia-Sunni differences is an intrigue by enemies calling both Islamic denominations as members of the same family while the enemies are busy plotting to disperse them via their trivial disagreements.

Head of the University of Islamic Denominations referred to desecration of Islamic schools of thought as a reason behind dissension calling for measures to prevent any disunity among Muslims.

“Desecration of sanctities and beliefs of other denominations is Haram (forbidden in Islam) and a clear violence of law and to respect ones belief should be intertwined with mutual respect for beliefs of other people because respecting the beliefs of other religions is a part of our religious belief” said Sayyed Navvab.

He warned against all-out efforts by enemies to undermine unity among Muslims and even among Shia and urged the world of Islam to stand united against enemies.

Senior cleric hailed Islam as the most complete holy religion in the world calling for full attention to the issue of Islamic unity.
