Compromise with US will not solve Iran issues: AYATOLLAH KHAMENEI

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei warns that compromise with the United States will not resolve the country’s problems as Washington has not set aside its hostilities towards the Iranian nation.

In a Thursday meeting with a group of Iranian students in Tehran, the Leader warned that the Americans and certain parties seek to persuade the Iranian society that compromise with Washington would settle the country’s issues.

“This mindset, which is very dangerous, says ‘if we compromise with the United State, all of the country’s problems will be resolved’,” said Ayatollah Khamenei.

The meeting comes as Iran prepares to commemorate on Thursday the anniversary of the 1979 takeover of the US embassy by Iranian students in the capital, Tehran.

The 13th day of the Iranian calendar month Aban, which falls on November 3 this year, is known as the Student Day in Iran, marking National Day of Fight against Global Arrogance.

On this day, a group of Iranian university students took over the US embassy, which they believed had turned into a center of espionage aimed at overthrowing the Islamic Republic in Iran following the country’s Islamic Revolution earlier in 1979.
