Chief of staff of Iranian Armed Forces: Al Saud / Wahabi deserves severe punishment
Charter of the United Nations prohibited aggression on a sovereign nation and the Saudi leaders are subject to culpability under the international criminal law, chief of staff of Iranian Armed Forces said on Tuesday.
Major-General Hassan Firuzabadi said that the international community must bring the Saudi leaders to justice for flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations.
He said that magnitude of the crimes against humanity and war crimes perpetrated by the Saudi leaders against the Muslim, revolutionary, oppressed, independent and democracy-seeking Yemeni nation by the Saudi wanton bombardments deserve to be seriously punished under the International Criminal Law.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the Army, IRGC, police and defense ministry commanders, questioning the ethical competence of Saudi leaders as the guardian of the two holiest Islamic sites in Mecca and Medina, namely Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Shrine and the Holy Kaaba.
He criticized the the UN Security Council for inaction vis-a-vis the current waves of bloodshed and deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Yemen and said that the United States and Britain have clearly trampled upon the rights of the Yemeni people and closed their eyes on setting afire the Muslim women and children, destroying their homes and cities and making them subject to arbitray displacement.
Firouzabadi said that the UN Security Council resolution must oblige the criminal Saudis to end the Saudi-US blockade on the air, sea and land humanitarian access to the Yemeni people.
'Saudi war planes urge the commercial plane carrying humanitarian aids to fly back, while the Saudi forces suppress the freedom seekers in Yemen,' he said, adding that all such acts deserve proportionate punishment by the international community.
'Do the Saudis have any response before the world lawyers and the freedom lovers around the world for their countless criminal acts?' he asked, adding, 'Are those criminals fit guardians for the two holiest Islamic sites and can that guardianship still continue?'
Quoting a holy saying by Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be upon Him), he said that Governance can continue amid disbelief, but cannot last amid injustice.
