1539: The wise, pious and moral speeches of Imam al-Rida (a.s): part three

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful
21- Imam al-Rida (peace be upon him) in a narration said:
Worship does not depend on many fasting and prayers rather worship depend on much pondering over the commandment of Allah.
22- He (peace be upon him) said:
The best friend of everyone is his sense and his enemy is his ignorance.
23- He was asked of the best servant, he (peace be upon him) said:
Those that are happy when they do well; they seek for forgiveness when they committed bad act; they give thanks when they were given; they become patient when they were afflicted and they pardon when they were offended. (Tuhfal Uqul: 445).
24- He (peace be upon him) said:
Indeed those that strive in order to take care of his family are having greater reward than those that strives in the path of Allah. (Tuhfal Uqul: 808).
25- He (peace be upon him) said:
Time shall come upon people whereby the well-being therein shall be in ten parts; nine parts out of it is withdrawer of people and the remaining one is in silence.
26- He (peace be upon him) said:
A miser does not have rest, the envier is not having joy, the kings are not trustworthy and the liar is not having manhood.
27- He (peace be upon him) said:
The senior brother is in the position of the father.
28- It was narrated from AbdulAzeem, from Abil Hassan al-Rida (peace be upon him) he said: “O’ AbdulAzeem!  Extend my salutation to my partisans and say to them not to pave way for Satan to have control over them; then ordered them to speak the truth, to return what was entrusted to them, they should observe silence, leave argument in what does not concerns them, leave in harmony with each other and to be visiting each other because that makes them closer to me; they should not engage themselves by tearing each other apart because I have taken an oath that whoever does that and annoys any of my royalties I pray to Allah to punish him severely in this world and shall be among the losers in the day of Judgment”. (Al-Ikhtasas: 247).
29- He (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever takeoff the garment of shyness is not having backbiting.
30- You should not forsake good work and striving while relying upon the love for the family of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) and don’t leave the love the family of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny) while relying upon worshipping because one of it shall not be accepted without the other.
