1534: The wise, pious and moral speeches of Imam Musa al-Kazim (a.s): part two
In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful
11- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
A- Recommendable prayers are source of nearness of the believer to Allah.
B- Pilgrimage is regarded as holy war of the weak ones.
C- Everything is having its Zakat and the Zakat of the body is the recommendable fasting.
D- The best act of worshipping after knowing Allah is waiting for the reappearance of the Imam.
E- Whoever supplicate before glorifying Allah and seeking peace for the Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) is like throwing an arrow without bow.
F- Whoever is certain for an alternative to money gives out more.
G- Whoever economizes shall not become needy.
H- Organization is half of life.
I- Showing affection to people is half of the intellect.
J- Too much worries causes old age.
K- Eagerness is a bad ethic.
L- Less family is one of the ways of simple living
M- Whoever annoys his parents has misbehaved to them.
N- Whoever slaps his thigh or slap his one hand on the other in an affliction has destroyed his reward. (Tuhfal Uqul: 425).
12- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
The believer is like two sides of scale that any time his faith increases his affliction also increases. (Tuhfal Uqul: 408).
13- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
Understand the religion because that is the key to insight, the entirety of act of worship, causes of attaining an exalted position, and great rank in the religion and in this world. Meanwhile dignity of a Jurist upon a servant is like that of the Sun upon the stars. Whoever did not understand the religion Allah shall not be pleased with his work. (Tuhfal Uqul: 434).
14- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
He whose good deeds in two days are equal is cheated; whoever the last of his two days is better, then he is successful; whoever the last of his two days is worst then he is cursed; whoever doesn’t know whether he is increasing then he is decreasing and whoever is decreasing, to die is better for him than to live. (Kashful Ghummah vol: 2, page: 252).
15- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever did not take the account of himself everyday is not part of us, this is to enable him show gratefulness to Allah and to increase in his good act and to enable him to seek for forgiveness and return back to Allah if he has committed bad act. (Al-Kafi vol: 2, page: 453).
16- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
Indeed the Prophets, their children and likewise their follower are having three characteristics: sickness of the body, the fear of the authority and poverty. (Al-Ikhtisas: 213).
17- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
Doing good to others is like chain handcuff that nothing detach it except its equivalent or a thanks giving; if the end of one’s life appears the hope become a scandal; whoever is born as poor become wanton of richness; whoever is not disturb by his bad attitude has no status for good deeds. (Bihal al-Anwar vol: 78 pg: 333).
18- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
Abstinence is the head of medicine and the stomach is the house of all illness. (Makarimul Akhlaq vol: 2 pg: 209)
19- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
Don’t seem to be very much for the much work done by you and don’t belittled the little sin committed by you because little sins when combine together become many; therefore fear Allah in secret so that you can be sincere to yourself; haste to obedience of Allah and be truthful in your saying and fulfill promise because that is for you and don’t interfere for what does not concerns you because that is against you. (Amali by Mufeed: 157).
20- Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him) said:
He who accuses his brother is cursed; he who cheats his brother is cursed; he who did not advise his brother is cursed and he who backbite his brother is also cursed. (Bihar al-Anwar vol: 78, pg: 333).
