1527: The wise, pious and moral speeches of Imam Baqir (a.s): part three

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful
21- Abu Jafar (peace be upon him) said:
Islam is built base on five things:
Observing prayer; giving the Zakat (alms); observing the Pilgrimage to the holy house; fasting in the month of Ramadan and to give allegiance to we Ahlulbayt.
Permission was given in four things out of this five but there is no permission in Allegiance. Zakat is not incumbent for he who doesn’t have money; likewise Pilgrimage is not compulsory for a poor man. Whoever is sick is permitted to pray in sitting position and allow to break his fast in the Ramadan but our allegiance is equivalent to everyone whether you are healthy or not, and whether you are wealthy or not, so it is incumbent. (al-Khisal by Saduq vol: 1, pg: 278).
22- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Look at your heart if you want to know whether there is any good in you, if your heart loves those that follows Allah and hates those that disobey Allah then there is good in you and Allah will love you, but if your heart loves those that disobey Allah and hates those that loves Allah, then Allah hates you because everyone shall be with whom he loves.

Prophet Shuaib pleaded and said: the evil doers deserve the punishment but how about the good ones?
Almighty Allah revealed to him saying: because they treat the evil doers gently and they did not annoy for my annoyance.
25- He (peace be upon him) said:
There are two types of perseverance: they are perseverance on affliction that is good and the affliction that is beautiful. The better of this perseverance is to desist from Allah’s prohibitions. (Jihad Nafs, hadith 163; Wasail Shiah by Hur Amuli, vol: 15, pg: 237, hadith 20372).
26- He (peace be upon him) said:
Four things are the treasure of good behavior:
- To keep your needs;
- To keep your alms giving;
- To keep your pains;
- And to keep your afflictions.
(Bihar al-Anwar, vol: 75, pg: 175).
27- He (peace be upon him) said:
Verily a believer is he when he is pleased he will not allow sin and falsehood to mix up with his pleasure and when he is annoyed, it doesn’t prevent him from saying the truth.
28- He (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever assist his brother that was backbite before him, Allah shall assist him in this world and in the world hereafter; whoever did not help him while he is having the ability Allah shall lower him in this world and in the world hereafter.
29- He (peace be upon him) said:
A caller shall call from the heaven when a man has become forty years of age that he should make all the necessary preparation for it is time for his journey.
30- He(peace be upon him) said:
There are three things that upgrade us, three things revoke our sin, three things that kill us and three things that rescue us.
As for three things that upgrade us are: spreading greetings (salam), feeding the needy and observing night prayer while people are asleep.
The three things that revoke our sins are: perfect ablution, walking day and night to attend prayer and keeping the congregation.
The three things that kill us are: misery that exist in human being, selfish interest and to be astonish with ones view.
The three things that rescue us are: fear of Allah secretly and overtly, to moderate whether in wealthy or poor situation and to be just whether you are pleased or annoy.
