1526: The wise, pious and moral speeches of Imam Baqir (a.s): part two
In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful
11- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Bad speech is the weapon of a depraved man.
12- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Verily Almighty Allah has hidden three things in three things:
1- He has hidden His pleasure in His obedience, so don’t neglect any aspect of His obedience as His pleasure may be there.
2- He has hidden His wrath in His disobedience, so don’t do any aspect of disobedience to Him as His wrath may be there.
3- And He has hidden His best friends among his creatures, so don’t neglect any one as that person may be the best friend of Allah. (Kashful Ghummah, vol: 2, pg: 148).
13- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Three things destroy ones humanity: a man that overestimate his good deeds, forget his sins and be astonished of his personal view.
14- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Every sin is pardon by (martyrdom) death in the ways of Allah the Majesty except debt because it cannot be pardon except paying it by him or by his friend or pardon by the person that have right over it.
15- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Almighty Allah grants three characteristics to believer:
Dignity in this world;
Success in the world hereafter;
And creation of his fear in the heart of the tyrants. (al- Kafi, vol: 8, pg: 234).
16- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Knowledge is a treasure and its keys is enquires, so make an inquiry may Allah have mercy on you. Verily four people are rewarded as a result of knowledge; they are the inquirer, the speaker, the listeners and those that love them. (Bihar al-Anwar, vol: 1 pg: 196).
17- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Connecting the blood relation purifies one deed; it promote ones wealth; it protect one from affliction; it makes ease ones accountability in the day of judgment and it increases one’s life span. (al-Kafi, vol: 2, pg: 155).
18- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Verily a man can be obedient to his parents during their life time but because he did not pay their debt and not seeking forgiveness for them after their death, Allah will put him in the record of those that disrespect his parents. And a man may disrespect his parents in their life time but because he pay their debt and seek forgiveness for them after their death, Allah will put him among the record of those that obey and respect their parents.
We understood the following from the narration:
1- Duties towards our parents don’t end by their death.
2- Allah has given an ample chance for those that have done wrong to their parents to amend that after the death of their parents. (al-Mahjatul baida’i, vol: 3, pg: 441).
19- He (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever walk towards the fulfillment of his brother’s needs, Allah will provide 75,000 Angels for him that will be writing good deeds for him for all his steps and cleaning his sins, likewise Allah will raise his grade and when he finish from the need of his brother, He will write for him the reward of Pilgrimage and lesser Pilgrimage.
20- He (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever is among four people, Allah will build an apartment for him in the Paradise:
- A person that give shelter to an orphan;
- A person that have mercy on the weak ones;
- A person that sympathize with his parents;
- And a person that is kind to his servant.
