1525: The wise, pious and moral speeches of Imam Baqir (a.s): part one

In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful
1- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
The entire perfection is to have understanding in religion, to have patient upon calamity and put your livelihood into consideration. (Usul al-Kafi, vol: 1, pg: 39).
2- He (peace be upon him) said:
A scholar that benefits from his knowledge is better than 70,000 ordinary worshipers. (Bihar al-Anwar vol: 75 pg: 173).
3- He (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever acquires knowledge in order to compete with the scholars or to contend with the foolish ones or to make people having inclination towards him should search for his abode in the Hellfire, verily leadership did not fit except those that deserve it.
4- He (peace be upon him) said:
Nothing is good to mix together more than knowledge and patient.
(Bihar al-Anwar vol: 75 pg: 172).
5- He (peace be upon him) said:
Three things are among the noble behavior in this world and in the hereafter:
- To pardon who has oppressed you;
- To unite with he that has cut away from you;
- And to be patient when one act ignorantly to you.
6- He (peace be upon him) said:
Oppression is of three types:
- Oppression that is pardon by Allah;
- Oppression that is not pardon by Allah;
- And the oppression that Allah shall not overlook.
The oppression that is not pardon by Allah is to associate partner with Him.
The oppression that is pardon by Allah is oppression one committed against his soul.
The oppression Allah shall never over look is the right of another person upon you.
He (peace be upon him) said: what the oppressed one took from the religion of the oppressor is more than what the oppressor took from the religion of the oppressed one.
7- Imam Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
He who has not taken admonition from his self shall never benefit from people’s admonition. (Tuhfal Uqul, pg: 294- Muntakhab Mizanul hikmah, pg: 600).
8- He (peace be upon him) said:
Whoever his outwardness is better than his inwardness, his acts and deeds becomes lighter. (Bihar al-Anwar, vol: 5, pg: 404).
9- Imam Muhammad Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
Be aware of laziness and annoyance because they are the key to every evil. He who is lazy will not like to enclose the right and whoever is dissatisfied shall not be patience on right. (Muntahal Amali, vol: 2, pg: 145).
10- Imam Muhammad Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
The Satan prefers the death of a scholar than the death of seventy ordinary worshippers.
