Summary of Fatimah’s sermon
After all the injustice done to Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) by forcibly taken Fadak from her and that of the Caliphate from Imam Ali, she decided not to sit down folding her hands rather she should voice out her grievances and to demonstrate her objection to the injustice done to her by caliph Abu-Bakr.
In this respect she resorted to the Mosque of the holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) in order to speak with the general Muslim most especially those that present during the farewell Pilgrimage of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
The sermon of Fatimah Zahra (a.s.) was so very eloquent and contain a lot of science to the extent she made the listeners to ponder about the Messenger of Allah. In fact the people were taken over by the said sermon to the fact that they all lamented. The lamentation made Fatimah to stop her sermon and later start again.
In the said sermon, she commence with praise to almighty Allah, salutation to her beloved father, mentioning the virtues of her father and that of Imam Ali.
Definitely the devil comes out with full force after the death of the Prophet as the people have forgotten him and intended going back to the age of ignorance. Really Mohammad is a Prophet, do you turn back from the religion even if he dies?
Did Abu-Bakr inherit his father and denies me of my inheritance?
She reminds the audience of the people of the previous Prophets like people of Nuh, A’d and Musa…..
Then she blames the so call followers of Mohammad for not assisting the daughter of their Prophet even though they heard all he has said in her respect.
How do you oppress the daughter of your Prophet whom you call upon in all your prayers?
Then she recites couples of verses of the holy Qur’an in the respect of all the oppression and injustice done against her.
