Fadak in Islam (3)

Why did the Jews travel to Hijaz?

The Jews after reading the coming of the promised Prophet in their Book, they decide to travel to Hijaz in order to settle there so that the Prophet comes from them. The first person among them to have settled in Hijaz was known as Ibn Khan and they settle in places call Khaibar and Fadak.

Then they commence preparing ground for the coming of the new Prophet with hope that he will definitely be from them. Thus this incidence was clearly stated in the holy Qur’an:

“And when there came a book from Allah verifying that which they have, and aforetime they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieve, but when there came to them (Prophet) that which they did not recognize, they disbelieved in him, so Allah’s curse is on the unbelievers”  (Chapter 2, verse 89).

So when the new Prophet didn’t emerge from them, they started misbehaving to the Prophet in particular and the Muslims in general, the occurrence which leads to the fall of Khaibar to the hands of the Muslim the 7th year of the (Hijra), the Muslim migration from Mecca to Medina.

The discrepancies between the Jews and the Muslim continue which may eventually lead to war between the Jews and the Muslims.

In order to avert war combat with the Muslims they need a very mighty sacrifice for the Muslim because there is no option before them except either to accept Islam which they deem to be disgrace as they did not accept Jesus as Prophet or to agree to wage war with the Muslims.

Pondering over the catastrophe that may emerge from the war, they decide to save their life by giving out the Fadak to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.). So Fadak was obtain without any combat and it was specified for the holy Prophet according to the holy Qur’an:

“And whatever Allah restored to His Apostle from, you did not press forward against it any horse or a riding camel, but Allah gives authority to His Apostles against whom He pleases and Allah has power over all things”  Chapter 24 verse 6.

Fadak as said in our previous article is a big farmland; it is full of water, dates and its land is very vast.
