The Grand Ayatollah Makarem said Saudi government must stop intolerant Wahhabis
The Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said the Saudi government must stop intolerant Wahhabis who do not respect their guests and distribute 6 million books against them during the Hajj period. He pointed to the fact that the permission for anti-Shia books are given by the Saudi government and added that millions have been spent on these books but they are all lies and accusations. He explained that the intolerant Wahhabis have control of religious affairs in Saudi Arabia and because of their defeats they wish to revenge but these acts have no use for them even if they distribute 60 million books.
The Grand Ayatollah said Shias are not killers and do not destroy the graves of the righteous. Shia Muslims are followers of Ahlul Bait (members of the prophet’s household) and cannot be confronted by lies and accusations. The Grand Ayatollah told Saudis that Hajjis are Allah’s guests and are invited there so insulting them is not a logical act and Saudi government must not allow this to happen. The Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi stressed that insulting Allah’s guests is not a wise policy and asked the Saudi government to stop the intolerant Wahhabis to sow discord amongst Muslims.
