Iranian Army unveils newest UAV
The Iranian Army unveiled its newest domestically manufactured unmanned aerial vehicle, named the Yasir, during a ceremony in Tehran on Saturday attended by Army Commander Ahmad Reza Pourdastan.
The Yasir UAV, which has been designed and manufactured by competent Iranian experts, has a range of 200 kilometers and is capable of flying nonstop for 8 hours.
The drone is equipped with advanced cameras enabling it to efficiently conduct surveillance missions.
Light weight and high mobility are among significant features of the aircraft.
During the ceremony, Brigadier General Pourdastan also said that the Army had developed the advanced technology to manufacture a ‘suicide’ drone, named the Ra’d 85.
The public relations department of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps also announced on Friday that the IRGC had started mass-producing a long-range unmanned aerial vehicle, named the Shahed 129 (Observer 129).
The Shahed 129 has a range of 1700-2000 kilometers and is capable of flying nonstop for 24 hours.
The aircraft, which is equipped with bombs and missiles, is capable of carrying out reconnaissance and combat missions.
