Iraqi Police announced that unknown armed persons blocked one of main roads linking Baghdad to north of the country and killed 14 lorry drivers whilst stealing the contents of the Lorries.

The incident occurred late at night near the town of Sulaimanbek about 160 Kilometers from Baghdad. According to France Press Mohammad Al-Bayati a local civil servant said last night armed forces equipped with RPG’s and other weapons attacked Sulaimanbek.

According to Reuters Talib Mohammad the Head of Sulaimanbek Council said all the murdered lorry drivers were Shia Muslims and were on the route from Baghdad to Kirkuk. Talib Mohammad added that the armed terrorists blocked the main road near Sulaimanbek and checked the identification of the drivers then opened fire on their heads and chests, slaughtering all of them.
