Israeli troops demolish Palestinian structures near Jericho

Israeli troops have attacked a small village near the Palestinian city of Jericho, destroying several Palestinian buildings using bulldozers.

According to witnesses, Israeli soldiers raided the village in al-Zour and al-Helgela areas of Jericho at 11 p.m. local time and destroyed at least six outhouses, which the villagers depend on for their livestock.

They said the Israelis did not even allow them to empty the structures.

Villagers said Israeli troops are destroying their outhouses since they want to establish a security area in the region and that they have turned the area into a closed Israeli military zone.

"We have lived in the area for 30 years, we have made outhouses, but Israelis destroy them because they want to build a security area. We can not live in an enclosed area," a villager told Press TV correspondent.

Israelis are now stepping up their policy of occupying villages, towns and cities in various regions in order to eliminate the achievements of the Palestinian people.

They have also stepped up their procedures of demolishing homes and continue violence towards the Palestinian people.
